Experience the succulent delights of the Alpes, as you eat your way through this fabulous gourmet box.

La Meute 2017, IGP Isère Balmos Dauphinoises, red wine (75 cl, 12%)

wine-isere-la-meute-domaine-loupWine makers: Stéphanie et Mario, Domaine du Loup des Vignes.

Stephanie and Mario’s vineyards grow on steep slopes with a gradient of between 30% and 70%—quite an impressive feat! A blend of Syrah and Mondeuse (a grape variety native to Savoy that’s also grown in Isère), the La Meute cuvée has aromas of red fruit and spices with a hint of fig, pepper and violet.

Perfect for pairing with the edible treats in this box, especially the diots and the Vercors blue cheese spread. Decant before serving to discover the full range of nuances.

Apérinoix de Dauphiné, DOP Grenoble walnuts with Guérande fleur-de-sel (130 g)

grenoble-wallnutsArtisans: Laure et Nicolas, Niconoix.

Laure and Nicolas grow walnuts with the Grenoble DOP label on their family farm in Saint Romans, in the heart of the Isère valley, continuing a family tradition that began in 1913.

There’s no better way to savour the intense flavour of these walnuts than this Apérinoix, lightly enhanced with a sprinkling of Guérande’s famous fleur-de-sel. They also make a wonderfully crunchy salad topping.

Artisanal Alpine terrine with Vercors blue cheese (180 g)

Alpine-terrineArtisan: Le Crétin des Alpes.

According to our artisan, this recipe was invented in the high pastures of the Alps, where a humble mountain man decided to combine the finest local products. We selected his artisanal gourmet French terrine, a subtle combination of pork and Vercors blue cheese.

Try this surprising, exquisite spread with Grenoble walnuts for a delightful snack.

Diots (typical Savoyard sausages) in red wine sauce (350 g)

diotsArtisan: Saucissons Moiroud.

The diot, which means “little sausage” in the Savoyard dialect, is a must in this part of the world, especially when it’s prepared and cooked by a gifted artisan using premium ingredients.

Serve these diots cooked in a red wine sauce with a side of potatoes and have yourself a little feast!

The iconic Surfin dark chocolate bar, 65% cocoa (100 g)

chocolate-bonnatChocolate maker: Maison Bonnat

“What’s good for your taste buds can't be bad for your soul!” This has been the motto of Maison Bonnat, a fixture in Isère, for more than one hundred years, and it’s served them well.

We invite you to try their original dark chocolate recipe, invented in 1884, made with cocoa beans from Venezuela, West Africa, Brazil, Peru and Mexico. Chocoholics, you’re in luck!

Crisp, delicious artisanal biscuits with Vinay walnuts and dark chocolate chips (100 g)

organic-wallnut-cookiesArtisan: Laurent Champon.

Laurent Champon and his team of bakers and chocolatiers have been established in Isère since 1998. At their Vinay shop, in the heart of Grenoble walnut country, they use traditional savoir-faire to transform superb, predominantly local ingredients into mouth-watering confections. They used walnuts to create this tasty biscuit sprinkled with chocolate chips, the perfect teatime treat!

Soft organic gingerbread with Isère mountain honey, chocolate and candied orange peel (100 g)

organic-gingerbreadArtisan-beekeeper: Yann Bresson, L’Arbre à Miel.

After a 20-year career in the restaurant business, Yann began making gourmet products on his certified organic farm, working in harmony with nature and using honey that reaps all the advantages of Isère’s amazing biodiversity. We fell in love with his organic gingerbread, sweetened with his own honey (of course!), chocolate and organic orange peels. We’re willing to bet you've never tasted gingerbread like this before.

Bon Voyage to Isère !
