OUR French GOURMET GIFT box from Lot-et-Garonne, A Premium FRENCH FOOD and wine box

Experience the succulent delights of France's South West gastronomy, as you eat your way through this fabulous Lot-et-Garonne gourmet box.

Domaine de Michelet, AOC Buzet, organic red with no added sulphites (75 cl)

vin-bio-aoc-buzetWine maker: Le Domaine de Michelet, exploitation viticole familiale, Jérôme et Nathalie Roussille.

To make their cuvée, our viticulturists only use grapes from their organically cultivated AOC Buzet vineyards. They don’t use any unauthorised insecticides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers to comply with the exacting Ecocert standards. Their organic wine is made without adding sulphites. The fruit is macerated just long enough to extract the finest tannins and pure grape juice. The wine is aged in tanks for several months and bottled ahead of time to retain the fruity freshness that makes this organic red so charming: a genuine explosion of grapes in your mouth!

Festive trout spread with delicate hints of the Far East: wakame and yuzu (90 g)

ferme-ciron-truiteArtisan: Ferme du Ciron, pisciculture artisanale, Olivier de Lataillade.

We fell in love with this spread by Ferme du Ciron for several reasons: the trout are fed a diet as close as possible to what they eat in the wild; the crystalline waters of the River Ciron, which has its source nearby, supply the fish farm tanks; and Olivier has an undeniable talent for transforming trout into edible delicacies with an original twist that makes all the difference. He combines his superlative trout with the savoury oriental flavours of yuzu, a tart citrus fruit from East Asia, and wakame, an edible seaweed widely used in Japanese cuisine. You’ll love it on a slice of bread!

Lou Pastou, a delicious combination of country-style pâté and a block of 30% duck fois gras (130 g)

terrine-foie-gras-lotArtisan: Foie Gras Famille Regaud, conserverie artisanale du sud-ouest.

Lou Pastou means “the shepherd”, a poetic name for a scrumptious combination: a core of creamy artisanal duck fois gras wrapped in delectable country-style pâté. The coarse texture of the artisanal pâté perfectly enhances the full-bodied flavour and creaminess of the foie gras. One bite is never enough.

A gourmet version of traditional Hachis Parmentier with duck confit from southwestern France (300 g)

hachis-parmentier-canard-artisanalArtisan : Foie Gras Famille Regaud, conserverie artisanale du sud-ouest.

In southwestern France, duck is an absolute must! Here you’ll find it in a delicious Hachis Parmentier, made from an old family recipe. The duck meat is shredded and combined with a savoury onion fondue and later covered with a layer of creamy “homemade” mashed potatoes. Authentic cuisine like this is made with quality, all-natural products and has no need for additives, preservatives or other artificial enhancements. Simply delicious.

Les Pralinées, the essential crunchy sweet made from cauldron-cooked hazelnuts (125 g)

pralines-noisette-artisanalesArtisan: La Maison de la Noisette - Ferme de Campelière.

In the heart of Lot-en-Garonne, in clayey-calcareous soil perfectly suited to growing hazelnuts, our artisans have planted their hazel trees and cultivate them with technical skill and the utmost respect for nature. They turn their own harvest into these delicious praline nuts, cooked in cauldrons with a bit of white and brown sugar to create genuine old-fashioned pralines. The results are crunchy and delightfully addictive.

Small pitted plums from southwestern France filled with delicious plum cream (box of 3)

pruneaux-d-agenArtisan: Longuesserre, confiserie fine et pruneaux d'Agen.

We simply couldn’t overlook this staple sweet of the Agen region. It’s a local, 100% plummy delicacy made entirely by hand: the stone is delicately removed from the fruit, and the plum becomes the casing for a delicious plum cream filling. A succulent treat that melts in your mouth. This confectionery is undoubtedly the crown jewel of the sweets industry in the southwest.

DDessert Agenais, a sweet, fruity speciality with 30% prunes and 30% apples (220 g)

dessert-agenaisArtisan: Longuesserre, confiserie fine et pruneaux d'Agen.

Apples and prunes are a match made in foodie heaven! This Dessert Agenais, or Agen-style dessert, is a sweet gourmet way to enjoy prunes and their multiple benefits in a perfect combination with apple compote. Try it as an afternoon snack spread on toast, mix it with dairy products, or simply grab a spoon and dig in!

Little chocolate discs: 70% cacao dark chocolate with salted peanuts, candied hazelnuts and Espelette pepper (100 g)

chocolat-apero-maison-guiguetArtisan: Maison Guiguet, artisan confiseur.

Dark chocolate (70% cacao) with salted peanuts, candied hazelnuts and Espelette pepper... just reading the list of ingredients is enough to make your mouth water. Some prefer them as an afternoon treat, but if you’re like us, you’ll be happy to nibble on them at any time of day!

Chocolatey gourmet version of Cabécou, the famous local goat cheese (95 g)

cabecous-chocolatArtisan: Maison Guiguet, artisan confiseur.

We couldn't resist one final sweet touch. These morsels of hazelnut praline with crêpe dentelle are coated in white chocolate to resemble the small round forms of Cabécou, a goat cheese typical of southwestern France. Just thinking of our first tasting experience makes us want to go back for more...

Bon Voyage to Southwestern France !

Independent Advice on our Box

Independent Advice on our Box

Every month, we have our new gourmet boxes tested by independent testers (we don't pay them! We just ship them one of our new gourmet basket…), specialized in the world of gourmet boxes to get external advice (we would obviously put 10/10 each time...) and make our latest gourmet baskets known, because we are proud of them, and because we must play the game of criticism....

This month, our French gourmet hamper of Lot-et-Garonne gastronomy in LaBoxDuMois website: outstanding rating!
