In stock
A Breton gourmet basket filled with products from small, authentic producers in Finistère that will take you on a journey to discover an extremely rich, varied, and high-quality culinary tradition. Finistère is truly a magnificent region!
Artisanal cidery: Au Pressoir du Belon, Gilles Goalabré, grower and producer.
Based in Riec-sur-Bélon in southern Finistère in Cornouaille—one of Brittany’s nine historic regions— Gilles and his team craft their delicious creations from their 8 hectares of orchards farmed organically—creations that regularly win awards at regional competitions.
We invite you to taste the only AOP cider in Brittany, the “Cornouaille” AOP cider, which guarantees a cider that is unpasteurized, not artificially carbonated, made from 100% pure juice of traditional apples grown in orchards within the designated geographical area, and crafted using traditional methods.
During the tasting, you’ll be delighted to discover its golden-orange color, its complex aroma with citrus notes, and its flavor—a balance of sweetness, bitterness, and a light acidity that gives it a refreshing quality on the palate. Excellent with savory or sweet crêpes, with a dish in sauce or white meat, it pairs perfectly with your cheese platters, and especially with soft-rind cheeses such as Camembert or Brie, for example.
Serve chilled at 8–10°C.
Artisanal Canning: La Chikolodenn..
An artisanal cannery specializing in traditional Breton recipes, La Chikolodenn takes its name from the headdress once worn in Saint-Pol-de-Léon in northern Finistère. Inspired by fresh produce from the Roscoff fish market, the artisanal cannery La Chikolodenn crafts savory, melt-in-your-mouth, and original rillettes.
The ones we’ve selected for you are a delightful combination of sea bass—with its delicate, exquisite flesh—and black pepper, which enhances the overall flavor. A particularly successful pairing for a unique appetizer!
Served on a slice of toasted bread, these rillettes pair perfectly as an appetizer with the excellent AOP cider we’ve selected for our Finistère gourmet basket.
Artisanal Breton cannery: Pointe de Penmarc’h.
Pointe de Penmarc’h was founded in 1920 in Guilvinec, a Bigouden fishing port at the western tip of Brittany. Just a stone’s throw from the fish market, fish—including sardines, albacore tuna, and mackerel—were canned immediately upon the boats’ arrival; at the time, the fleet consisted of more than a hundred fishing vessels.
Handcrafted, these sardines in extra virgin olive oil are a pure delight for fish lovers and a collector’s item for “puxisardinophiles” (sardine can collectors!).
Tender and flavorful, they are canned ultra-fresh in high-quality olive oil and packaged in a limited-edition tin, which is the result of a collaboration with the Breton artist Ramine. A must-have in any special Brittany gift set!
You can choose to enjoy them right away (straight from the can or with some toast and a few drops of lemon juice) or, like fine wine, follow the example of some gourmets by letting them age in your cupboard for years: the flavor is—so they say—enhanced!
Artisanal Breton cannery: Pointe de Penmarc’h.
The langoustines are cooked by our artisan with onions and tomatoes, which simmer slowly; herbs and crème fraîche are then added to create a sauce with the perfect creamy texture, which coats the thin, tender ravioli stuffed with ricotta.
To enjoy the langoustine ravioli, after opening the can, place them directly into an oven-safe dish and sprinkle them with grated Gruyère or Parmesan. Bake at 180 °C for 15 minutes. Feel free to add a few minutes under the broiler to get the ravioli nicely browned.
You can serve them with a green salad dressed with a seaweed-mustard vinaigrette, for example.
Artisanal Chocolate Shop: Michel Chatillon - Chocolatier.
These delicious little gray and pink squares, reminiscent of Breton granit, are a truly indulgent creation by Michel Chatillon, our artisan chocolatier from central Finistère.
Made with white chocolate and dried fruits (walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, raisins, candied orange peel, and praline), they’re a delightful treat to enjoy with your coffee, for example.
Artisanal chocolate and cookie shop: Maison Georges Larnicol, Meilleur Ouvrier de France 1993.
We’ve tasted plenty of salted butter caramels, and we can assure you that this one is among the very best… Melt-in-your-mouth, smooth, creamy, and full of flavor: it has it all. No surprise, you might say, since the recipe was created by a Meilleur Ouvrier de France!
Whether you’re using it to top your crêpes or just enjoying it by the spoonful, it’s a true delight. Just be careful once you open the jar—for some reason, it disappears in no time!
Artisan: Jars and Small Dishes—Catering and Homemade Prepared Meals, Aline Ickx.
Aline crafts her creations—both sweet and savory—in Fouesnant in southern Finistère. We fell in love with a classic of Finistère pastry—the Breton cake, of course—but with an extra touch of indulgence: salted butter caramel that makes all the difference!
And if you find there’s not quite enough, you can always add a teaspoon of the salted butter caramel we’ve selected for our Finistère gourmet gift set!
Every month, we have our new gourmet gift boxes tested by independent reviewers (we don’t pay them! We just send them one of our boxes), who specialize in the world of gourmet gift boxes, to get outside opinions (we, of course, would give ourselves a 10/10 every time....) and to showcase our latest gourmet gift baskets—because we’re proud of them, and it’s important to be open to criticism...
The excellent results from the review of our Normandy Calvados Gourmet Box on the ToutesLesBox website: 10/10!
