For this gourmet hamper, we're heading for the Ardennes, a region that offers climatic and geographic diversity (between the chalky plains of Champagne in the south and the steeper forests of the north of the département) conducive to gastronomic riches. The wild boar, symbol of the region, is cooked to perfection, but we also find rare poultry such as the famous firm-fleshed red turkey, tasty craft beers, all types of cereals and delectable berries. And above all, of course, exceptional artisans who love their terroir and give it back to us in the form of delicious products.
A gourmet box to be discovered as a matter of urgency!
Contents of our Ardennes gastronomy gourmet hamper:
- Spring amber beer brewed the old-fashioned way (75 cl).
- Aperitif biscuits with 6-month-aged French Mimolette cheese made from green lentil flour (100 g).
- Heart of Boudin Blanc (120 g).
- Traditional Ardennes red turkey with white wine, mushroom and crème fraiche sauce (350 g).
- Famous Ardennes chocolate specialties with praline: Ardoises and Sangliers des Ardennes (70 g bag).
- Artisanal fruit candies "Made on the farm" with apple, lemon and raspberry flavors, 100% natural (180 g).
- Tasty artisan fruit jellies with redcurrant sparkle (100 g).
Details of the products in our Ardennes gourmet hamper and from our small-scale artisans below.

A French gourmet basket filled with products from small, authentic producers in the Ardennes that will take you on a voyage of discovery of an extremely rich, varied and high-quality culinary production. The Ardennes are celebrating!
Artisan-brewer: La Margoulette, Vincent Devie, AB Brasserie.
But why "La Margoulette"? We often say "to break the margoulette", "to have a good margoulette"! In fact, in the Champagne-Ardenne patois dictionary, margoulette means a face or figure. Gustave Flaubert used it in his rare and precious work "Correspondance" in 1869! A funny name that appealed to Fabrice and his wife Julie, in charge of marketing, for their labels.
And the amber version concocted by Fabrice more than holds its own when tasted. With a little more body than a traditional blonde, it's a true gourmet beer that loses none of its finesse.
Farmer-miller-biscuit maker: Atelier Contal.
A resourceful "artisan family"! They really do everything themselves, from cultivation to processing. In fact, our artisan is the first certified Organic and Gluten-Free Farmer-Miller-Biscuit Maker in France, and has been cultivating his crops in Organic Agriculture for over 10 years. And in 2019, they decided to transform their farm produce on site and on a stone millstone without additives, preservatives or gluten, but with lots of taste!
It's one thing to have good raw materials, it's quite another to be able to make good products from them, and we have to say that everything we tasted was excellent. We fell in love with their savory biscuits made with stone-ground green lentil flour. To spice them up, they incorporated 6-month-aged French mimolette made by the Coopérative Isigny Ste Mère.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Artisan Charcutier : Traditions des Ardennes, Charcuterie Artisanale
It took our artisan months of research in the kitchen to come up with this heart of plain white pudding as a spreadable cream! Of course, the difficulty and originality here lies in the fact that our artisan has prepared this unique recipe as a delicious spread, using the same ingredients and in the same proportions as Authentique Boudin Blanc des Ardennes, which is not spreadable! Its smooth texture is in fact the fruit of a specific manufacturing process and contains no artificial ingredients or industrial additives.
Hot or cold and spread on a slice of bread, it's a great way to start an aperitif by transporting yourself to the Ardennes!
Breeder-craftsman: Les Plumes de L'Arne, Conserverie Artisanale
Tawny-red plumage, thick, strong thighs and a weight of 4.5 to 9 kilos: the Ardennes red turkey doesn't go unnoticed! It is said to have arrived in the Ardennes at the end of the XVIᵉ century during Spanish rule. The story goes that it is a cross between a wild turkey and a black turkey.
Raised in the open air and fed on our artisan-producer's cereal production, Ardennes red turkeys are cooked by our artisan with this simple but highly successful recipe that will allow you to discover this turkey with very interesting gastronomic qualities.
Simply heat over a low heat in a saucepan and you're ready to go!
Artisanal confectioner: Chez Crystal, Crystal Petit, baker, confectioner and chocolatier
Slate production has long been an important economic activity in the Ardennes, particularly in the north of the department. And while the last slate-makers closed down in the 20th century, the pastry-making industry has revived this particularity of the département, creating beautiful slates that are... edible!
A caramelized nougatine with almonds and hazelnuts, coated in blue-tinted white chocolate (reminiscent of slates, of course) was born, and Crystal, our craftswoman, makes some delicious ones... Complemented by a few wild boars with praline - the region's symbol par excellence - you're in for a treat!
Artisan: Confiserie des Ardennes and A les Champs artisanal production, Sophie Loriette.
In this pack, you'll find "little balls of happiness" in a variety of flavors: apple, lemon and raspberry. A skilful blend of two local raw materials linked to their farm, namely beet sucrose and wheat glucose, from their own production. These handcrafted sweets are made in their workshop, directly on the farm, with different flavors, all natural.
Enjoy your sweet pleasures!
Artisan : Clos de Gobu, Producers, Rémi Aubrée, his father Lionel and his associate Philippe Kaloghiros
Redcurrants thrive in the Ardennes, with their need for cold winters - even if the weather has been changing "a little" lately - and our craftsmen have specialized in the production of small red fruits on their farm in Falaise, which they transform into a delicious sparkling wine using the Champagne method, as well as into delicious fruit jellies in which the redcurrant is highlighted.
Attention gourmands! It's addictive!

Every month, we have our new gourmet boxes tested by independent testers (we don't pay them! We just send them one of our boxes), specialized in the world of gourmet boxes, to get external opinions (we'd obviously give them 10/10 every time...) and publicize our latest gourmet baskets, because we're proud of them, and we have to play the game of criticism...
The excellent results of the test of our Ardennes gourmet Box on the Laboxdumois website: not bad!
